The number of multicultural students in Seoul is increasing.
The numbers tripled to 180,000, compared to 10 years ago. In downtown Seoul, Yeongnim Elementary and Daedong Elementary in Yeongdeungpo-gu have a multicultural students percentage of over 70%. 9 schools have percentages of over 40%. 2 middle schools also have over 30%, and an increasing amount of multicultural students. In this situation, the Seoul Central Office of Education prepared the <Student Customized Support Policy>.
The necessary advisory group was formed. Representative Kim Ki-hak was appointed for the advisory group.
2024/6/27 Yongsan-gu Exemplary Resident Awarding Ceremony Baraka Small Library is working to ensure a good settlement for local residents and immigrant families. For a healthy multicultural society in the future, we are working to serve as a bridge between the local community and the immigrant community. In recognition of this contribution, a commendation from Yongsan-gu Mayor was awarded on June 27, 2024. 2023/12/11 2023/12/11 Attending the Seoul Welfare Project Regional Council Conference Baraka is helping children from immigrant backgrounds be established educationally. We are working closely with <Yongsan Education and Welfare Center> to help children and adolescents in educational welfare. The public, private and academic sectors work together to take care of the children. We look forward to this business becoming more and more solid. The future of our country comes from sound education and a healthy life.
2023/12/7 Immigrant Youth Support Project Reporting Meeting (Migrant Background Youth Support Center) There are now 200,000 immigrant youth. Children of immigrant backgrounds are the future of Korea. Our future generations should be able to receive a healthy education and grow up. Opening a path to effective education for children from immigrant backgrounds is part of planning the future of Korea. With the support of the education and welfare community, this can be done, and the children will grow well.
2023/11/13 Awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Yongsan Police Station In recognition for creating the well-being of immigrants and their settlement, we received a certificate of appreciation from the Yongsan Police Station together with the Baraka children.
2023/11/9 Invited to attend the opening ceremony of Seoul Kids Cafe We attended the opening ceremony of Yongsan’s kids cafe, Dodam Dodam Indoor Playground. Baraka children are invited to the Dodam Dodam indoor playground every Thursday to enjoy happy play.

10/14 Lecture at Yeonsu-gu Family Center On October 14th Afghan families living in Hambak Village were invited to the Yeonsu-gu Family Center. CEO Kim Ki-hak gave a lecture titled “Finding Happiness for Our Children.” About 150,000 immigrants live in Incheon. In particular, in 'Hambak Village' in Yeonsu-gu, the number of immigrants is well over 25,000, reaching 60%. In the process of settling down with Afghan contributors entering Korea in 2021, about 10 families are settling in Incheon. We invited six Afghan mothers to discuss effective education for their children and prepared their children for their education.
